The Committee to Support Central (C.S.C.) has recently formed to provide support and assistance to students at C.CH.S.  The mission is to “Promote Central Community High School, facilitate community involvement, and enhance student opportunity”.

The executive committee of the C.S.C. consists of President Jim Riddle, Vice President Dr. Doug Kruse, and committee members Dr. Craig Revermann, Ann Schroeder, Amy Kruse, Tina Winkeler, and Mike Nettemeier.

This is an exciting time for Central Community High School.  The school opened its doors in 1971.  For the 08-09 school year, Central has grown to an enrollment of nearly 600 students.  Currently over fifty percent of students receive post-secondary education or technical training.

The C.S.C. hopes to further invest in our young people by providing additional scholarships each year.  One of the first tasks of the C.S.C. is to enhance the scholarship opportunities available to students and to administer the funds generated by donors for post-secondary educational endeavors of students.  This will allow an even greater percentage of students to continue their education beyond Central.

Currently, a number of scholarships are offered each year to graduates.  These scholarships are funded through the generosity of alumni, businesses, or friends.  Some scholarships are donated on an annual basis while others may choose to donate an endowed scholarship.  And, still others may choose to make a general donation that can be included with other donations to form a single endowment fund scholarship opportunity.  The possibilities are endless.

As with any endeavor, funding is crucial to a program’s success.  The C.S.C. hopes people will consider making a contribution … one that will positively influence so many students’ futures.  Additionally, contributors will be recognized on the C.S.C. website, on a plaque at the school, and during the awards program for scholarship recipients.

For more information or to make a scholarship donation, please feel free to contact any member of the C.S.C. executive committee or Kevin Meyer, Superintendent.
