MARCH SCHOLARSHIP LIST

 

1.      American Society of Military Comptrollers

Several scholarships up to $3000 – need, achievements, leadership, career plans – applicants must be majoring in a field of study directly relating to finance/resource management.  March 12

 

2.     Doug Leeck Memorial Scholarship

Must be AG major, C average or better – academics, recommendations – must be attending Rend Lake.  March 12

 

3.      Clinton County Farm Bureau

2-$2500, 2-$1500, 4-$1000, 4- $500 scholarships - must be a child of Farm Bureau member – academics, test scores, interview.  March 15

 

4.     BCMW Scholarship

10-$500 scholarships – must be eligible for free or reduced lunch – need, academics, career goal, recommendations.  March 26

 

5.      Goldsmith-Fielder AG Scholarship

1 or more scholarships to be awarded in Clinton County – must be majoring in AG – academics, activities, interview.  April 1

 

6.     Josh Melton Memorial Scholarship

$500 scholarship awarded to one student from Central – 500 word essay on Patriotism – essay to be judged by Kaskaskia Valley ABATE.  April 1

*Josh was a 2001 graduate of Central who was killed while serving in Iraq.

 

7.    Kaskaskia College Students in Recruitment Scholarship

6 scholarships for tuition waiver for 1 year – must participate in recruitment activities;  work at various open houses, and student orientation activities – 10 hours weekly – academics, interview, activities, recommendations.  April 1         

 

8.      Lady of the Elks

2-$250 scholarships – must be attending KC – academics, plans, need.  April 15

 

9.      St. Elizabeth’s Hospital

$500-$2000scholarships for students interested in health care – must request an application in writing (see instructions).  May 30

 

 

10.                        Kaskaskia College  Fine Arts Scholarship

Tuition and Fees – majors include Visual Arts, Instrumental, Vocal, newspaper, Speech team, Teacher – renewable if certain criteria is met – see sheet for specific requirements.  June 30

 

 

Continuing February Scholarships

1.     IMUA 2010 Scholarship

1-$1,500 scholarship – must reside in Breese – essay.  March 12

2.      KC Foundation Scholarship

Several $500 - $2,000 scholarships – may have residency requirements, must see booklet.  March 15

3.      United Steelworkers Scholarship

1-$1000 scholarship – applicant must be the child or grandchild of an active member of the retired Steelworkers (SOAR), must have a health care for seniors major.  Essay on April 10 at specific location.

4.      Trenton Chamber of Commerce

2-$750 scholarships – must have a Trenton mailing address, have a B average, attend either 2 or 4 year school – academics, community service.  March 31

5.      M. Leleniewski Memorial Scholarship

1-$1,000 scholarship – must be in upper 40% of class, have major in architecture, construction related engineering ,or construction technology – recommendations, letter of intent.  March 31

6.      Illinois Lumber and Materials Foundation

Several from $500 - $2000 scholarships – must have a major related to Lumber industry, must attend an Illinois college – essay, recommendations.  April 1

7.      Heneghan and Associates Engineering

1-$250 scholarship – must major in engineering, surveying, or math – academics, activities.  April 5

 

8.     Breese Jaycees Community Service Project Scholarship

1-$500 scholarship – must develop and organize a community service project – recommendations.  April 9

9.      Silver Cougars

1-$500 scholarship – Central graduate majoring in education, academics, essay.  April 12
