Central earned the “Exemplary” Schools rating for the 4th year in a row. We plan to celebrate this achievement with the faculty and staff on October 23rd.
Central students, Aubrey Rakers and Sophie Markus, earned a perfect score on the ACT. Aubrey and Sophie worked extremely hard over the last few years with the goal of earning a 36, and we are so proud of them!! This makes THREE perfect scores over the last two years!!
The lowest responsible bidder on the HVAC and Roof Replacement project was Baer Heating and Cooling. The base bid amount was $701,623.00 for replacing the roof and HVAC units on the 05/06 addition and $189,779 for the alternate bid to replace the HVAC units on Eagleson Gym and the front offices. Due to the base bid coming in substantially lower than expected, it will be my recommendation to award both the base project and the alternates (with a total cost of $891,402) to Baer Heating and Cooling. Bear would act as the General Contractor for the project while also completing the HVAC work, and they would subcontract out the roofing project to Martin Roofing. The cost for both items were included in their bid package. Other bidders on the project can be found below, along with their total bid amounts:
D7 Roofing - $950,194.00
Jim Taylor Roofing - $1,109,925.00
Lakeside Roofing - $1,176,502.00

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT:
Homecoming 2025 wrap-up…the homecoming parade was held on Sunday, September 12 with another great crowd. A huge thank you to Donny Petterson and Kim Rakers for once again organizing the entire day! After the parade students were able to participate in powder puff football games and grass volleyball games. A huge thank you to Karrie Kujawa and her student council members for making this happen. The entire week leading up to the big football game and dance was full of dress up days and “The Revival of Class Games.” A huge thank you to Sara Wellen, Rachel Faust, Kelly Schumacher, Julianne Jacob, and Kristin Rueter for bringing it all back. The games were a BIG hit with the kids and the staff enjoyed them as well. It definitely brought school spirit back into our homecoming week. The week then ended with the homecoming dance and coronation. Our queen this year was Camryn Langhauser and our king was Caden Klay.
Our annual FAFSA night was held on September 17th for any senior parent that was interested in learning more about the FAFSA process. Thank you to Trisha Lohman for organizing this opportunity for our parents.
October 1 - the opening of the Educator Preview for our School Report Card information and summative designation. I am beyond excited to announce that for the 4th year in a row, Central Community High School has earned the Exemplary designation. Thank you to our students, parents, staff, board members and the entire Central community! It takes everyone working together towards a common goal of imaging greatness to achieve this designation.
October 2 - we had the amazing opportunity to host a welcoming ceremony and send off for the “Make a Wish Foundation.” Farmer Henry was escorted through our circle drive with our entire school lining the sidewalks and the Central drumline playing. Henry was on his way to St. Rose to fulfill his wish of riding in a combine. It was an amazing experience and there weren't too many dry eyes to be found.
Congratulations to Abbigail Leezer for winning an FFA Jacket through the GrowMark Foundation. She submitted an essay on “What does the FFA Jacket mean to me” and “What she would like to accomplish as an FFA member.” She was one of 25 students selected in the state for this award!
