Dear Parents/Guardians,
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that Central Community High School has a surveillance system and doorway entrance security system. The purpose of this equipment is to provide an even safer environment at our school and an improved security measure for our school building and grounds.
The surveillance system records video images of the indoor and outdoor public areas of the facility. Video surveillance can be found in areas that have no expectation of privacy and does not violate reasonable personal standards. The primary intention is not to garner evidence for disciplinary consequences but to provide all students, staff, and members of our school community with a greater sense of security.
This equipment requires everyone to enter the school facility at the main entrances during the school day when students are present. Individuals only have access at the front entrance and the entrance doors of the student parking lot. All visitors are required to identify themselves, wait for school personnel to allow them to enter, and then immediately report to the office, during the school day.
Central Community High School views the surveillance system and security measures as part of our management plan and an enhancement to the safety precautions already present for your child at our school. We hope that you find these measures comforting and convenient. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or at 526-4510.
Thank you.
